Running Backup my mail on XP with Signed timestamp pst file checked the following error occurs.

Error Code:
RunBackup
Could not find a part of the path.

It appears that the DateTime.Now.String uses slashes in the date which causes error at the File.Move line in RunBackupToOnePst()

Hi,

I want to use BackupMyMail on a Windows XP SP3 with Office 2003. I installed the Version 1.03.
I used the default settings with an administrating account but everytime I start the backup the trailed popup appears.

How can I fix it?

Successfully installed Backup My Mail on a Lenovo ThinkPad running Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. From Start menu, I allow the program from an unknown publisher. I set up a backup folder and schedule time. When I select Backup now, I receive an error message that program has stopped working, and it closes. Screenshot attached.

Hi,
If I find some free time I will try to test the performance of this version of the program (MS Outlook 2010 + version of the current backup). At the moment, please check whether you set the backup options are correct and that the VSS copies of the volume (volumes of source pst files) were turned on.

If you set the backup directory as the same directory as the default PST, BMM will delete the outlook.pst and overwrite it with the backup. Easy to fix, but scary at first.

BTW, can you back up multiple PSTs?

I do not see much sense to put the backup folder in the same folder as the default location of the pst file (eg C: \ Users \ Mark \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Outlook). A copy of the very definition, should be stored on another partition or preferably on another drive (to make every return in case of emergency).
The BMM allows (and this is his main task) used to copy all files * FOR IN Outlook. Pst. (the only restriction is such that if any of the used files *. pst is connected to a network resource, eg \ \ server \ share \ Archive.pst) is a process must be performed to back-off to MS Outlook (Limitations hobocopy (r)) and included an option (no use VSS on settings tab).
Ensures there are many other better / more efficient programs to archive e-mail, but this program is primarily a free (also for commercial use) and you can modify to your needs (the advantages of GNU).

Yes, if the PST file(s) is on a drive other than C:\, system protection must be turned off on BOTH the drive with the PST AND the drive with BackUpMyMail.

and backupmsoutlook can be run as a task scheduler in a standard windows scheduler (recommend program for backup in background, "set and forget" :)

Backup My Mail is a simple GUI for hobocopy(c) program download from https://github.com/candera/hobocopy/downloads website
This program copy all pst files from default Microsoft Outlook profile to backup folder (v.0.982 tested in Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Microsoft Outlook 2010)

Attention:
If you MS Outlook using pst archive files from other drive then system partition eg. ("D" yours hard disc partition) turn eariel shadow copy for this partition -> http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/330-system-protection-turn-off.html
(solution for Windows 7)

If you MS Outlook using pst archive files from network share eg. (\\server\share\archive.pst) you must use "not use vss" option (checkbox on tab other) and MS Outlook must be disable when run it.

Restore procedure:

1. Select path to *.reg file and push button "Restore MS Outlook registy"
(override actual setting in windows registry) - restore optional step
2. Select path to *.xml file and push button "Read pst info"
(program read all path to orignal pst location and last backup) - restore require step
3. Restore pst: - restore user choose step
a) Push button "Restore only default pst" if you want restore only default pst file (actual mail)

//if the pst files are not small, this procedure will take some time (look on label in left corner)
disadvantage of this recovery is that the version of Outlook and a user name and file locations pst must be the same as when making copies.
